The families at SNUG look forward to welcoming you into what is famously known as the ‘SNUG family’ – a community of mums and dads who understand just what you are going through. SNUG members come from all walks of life but the one thing we all have in common is that we’ve all had a baby stay on a neonatal unit.
SNUG run monthly post-neonatal groups across a range of geographical areas in Devon. They are run in partnership with providers such Homestart, Children’s Centres and members of the Health Visiting teams. These groups offer a supportive environment for parents to make new friends, engage in wider community activities and facilitate shared learning (between families and practitioners) around the needs and experiences of neonatal families and the barriers they may face.
All we ask is that if you have a cough or a cold or any other bug, please give the group a miss as many babies are extra-vulnerable compared to many of their peers, whether they look it or not.
In addition to these monthly groups, SNUG also hold special events throughout the year, such as Christmas coffee mornings, Teddy Bear’s picnics and whenever we have an excuse to get the biscuits out and catch up with the parents and babies who make SNUG great!
All SNUG members will be notified of any upcoming events or opportunities and where numbers permit, we also open up these events to the wider community and to those who may not have joined SNUG yet, but would like a taste of what membership offers.
