We were so excited to be chosen as one of Princesshay’s Charity’s to join in their display of Christmas Trees! We had SO much fun coming up with adorable and impactful ideas for decorations for these trees, and even more fun bringing all these ideas together!
We all got together on a crisp Saturday morning to decorate our very own Tree! When we first arrived, we were surprised at how tall the tree was, but fortunately we had the perfect amount of decorations to go up and a handy step ladder! Our decorations brought our whole SNUG community together, showing off the strength of the babies and families in SNUG. Putting together the ‘BEFORE AND AFTER’ collage baubles was a very emotional and heart warming job, and then seeing them shining on our Christmas tree was a wonderful moment – along with the teenie tiny premature nappies, knitted hats and other neonatal ‘bit’s and bobs’ really highlighted how small and vulnerable some of these babies are.
We want to say a massive thank you to the volunteers that came along on the day to help decorate the tree, and a big thank you to all the families that got involved with sending in their photos for the tree
We were SUPER DUPER chuffed to find out we also came as a runner up in the competition for the trees – and although every single one of those trees were fabulous in their own right, it was lovely getting a little recognition for the hard work we had all put in.
Our absolute most favourite thing of this whole experience has been seeing the photos popping up online of all our SNUG families and their babies visiting the SNUG tree, getting a chance to see them hanging there for all to see and cherish – it’s truly been a heart warming project and we can’t wait for next year to do it all over again!
