On Sunday 29th June, we were absolutely thrilled to welcome families, friends, and supporters to our Summer Family Fun Day at the beautiful Instow Cricket Club in North Devon. The sun was shining, the cricket field was buzzing with laughter, and the community came together for a day full of fun, fundraising, and friendship – all in support of SNUG’s vital work providing neonatal peer support.
From the moment the gates opened, there was a real buzz of excitement in the air. Kids dashed straight for the bouncy castle, parents queued for delicious cakes and pasties, and the aroma of summer fun filled the field. It was a true celebration of community spirit.
Our sports day events were a major hit! With egg and spoon
races, sack races, and even a hilarious dad race (shoutout to the dad who took a tumble but got up laughing!), the field was full of cheering and giggles. DJ Westy’s kept the energy high, hosting brilliant kids’ games and even getting our staff to look a bit silly – all in good fun, of course!
The little ones enjoyed a world of activities – from face painting to messy play, crafting, hook-a-duck, and more. The creativity was flowing, and the smiles were endless. A special highlight was a surprise visit from the local police, who stopped by to let children explore their car and try on helmets – a moment of wide eyes and big dreams!
We’re incredibly proud of our amazing volunteers, who worked tirelessly to bring this event to life. Whether it was setting up gazebos, running stalls, or handing out cakes, your dedication and kindness made the day what it was.
