Community Spirit Shines at Bodmin Fire Station Open Day
This summer, the Bodmin Fire Station Open Day brought the local community together for a fantastic day of fun, learning, and generosity – and SNUG was honoured to be one of the charities supported.
The event, held at the beginning of August, was FAB!!! Families came along to explore fire engines, meet firefighters, enjoy delicious food, and take part in activities, all while raising vital funds for good causes. The day raised an incredible £1,635.06, which was shared between The Fire Fighters Charity, MAN DOWN, and SNUG. From this, SNUG received an amazing £408.12 – money that will directly support families with premature and sick babies when they need it most.
For us, being chosen as a beneficiary was especially meaningful. One of Bodmin’s own firefighters, Jack, has a personal connection to SNUG, as his daughter was born prematurely and spent time in neonatal care. During that challenging time, Jack and his family found support through our community. In recognition of this, Jack and his colleagues wanted to give back – and we are deeply moved by their generosity.
The day wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of the Bodmin Fire and Rescue Service team, the support of the community, and the kindness of local businesses. From raffle prize donations to food stalls like Kelly’s Ice Cream and La Familia Burger, everyone played their part in making the event a huge success.
On behalf of everyone at SNUG, we want to say a heartfelt thank you:
-
To Bodmin Fire Station for choosing us and working tirelessly to make the day such a success.
-
To every family and individual who came along, donated, bought raffle tickets, and supported.
-
To the many local businesses whose generosity kept the raffle brimming with fantastic prizes.
Events like these are a true reminder of the power of community. Together, you have helped us continue our mission of walking alongside families of premature and sick babies – providing comfort, connection, and care when it matters most.
From the bottom of our hearts: thank you. ❤️🚒
